After completing his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and Master's degree in Hydraulic Engineering at TU Delft, Sjoerd developed a strong interest in geotechnical engineering during his thesis research on backward erosion piping in flood defence structures. After a period as a working student, he joined GEO2 Engineering B.V. in June 2026 as a Junior Geotechnical Engineer.

Sjoerd is an analytical and dedicated geotechnical engineer with a strong motivation to further develop his skills and take on new challenges. He has a keen interest in understanding complex geotechnical behaviour and enjoys working on challenging projects where technical expertise, collaboration, and a practical approach come together. With his curious mindset and enthusiasm for continuous learning, he makes a valuable contribution to projects and the development of suitable geotechnical solutions.
