RECONSTRUCTION OF THE N211 WIPPOLDERLAAN
In South Holland, a major reconstruction of the N211 Wippolderlaan is being carried out south of The Hague, commissioned by the Province of South Holland. The N211 is an important connecting route between the A4 motorway and the Westland region.
Several improvements are being implemented. The N211 is being widened from 2 × 2 lanes to 2 × 3 lanes. In addition, two grade-separated intersections are being constructed: one in the form of a flyover and the other as an underpass.
The works are being executed by the contractor consortium Mobilis/Van Gelder. Commissioned by Mobilis, GEO2 Engineering B.V. has carried out various activities for this project, including:
- Review of the Detailed Design (DO)
- Verification of geotechnical bearing capacity for the installation of bridge decks using SPMTs
- Execution of vibration predictions for pile driving activities
- Assessment of foundation piles for a pile mattress using Plaxis 2D
- Verification of retaining structures using D-Sheet Piling
