PREPARATION OF SITE FOR CONSTRUCTION WORK OF DE KREEK IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MIDDEN-DELFLAND
The municipality of Midden-Delfland has begun the development of de Kreek (outlined in red), the last major residential building location in the municipality. The plan is to provide on this site about 140 new homes in a range of different designs.
For the most southerly part of the project area, GEO2 Engineering B.V. has already advised about a temporary space for so-called ‘status-holders’. On the basis of experiences gained during that project, and the resulting confidence of the project commissioner, the Municipality of Midden-Delfland, we have been selected to provide further general geotechnical advice.
This advice involves preparation of the complete project area for construction work, and the design of a dewatering and drainage system within the relevant area.
Bearing in mind the large extent of the project area, the results have been visualised.
An example of such a visualisation relating to the provision of public roads is given in the adjacent figure. The advantages of such a map are that, at a glance, the areas sensitive to ground settlement and the impact of the necessary measures are immediately apparent.
