TEAM EVENT AMSTERDAM
What a great day it was last Friday during our annual team outing, this time in Amsterdam!
We started our day by visiting the final result of the De Entree project. Then on a project visit to De Geldersekade, where the quay replacement by Beens Groep is currently in progress. Thanks to Johannes Beens who gave us more insight into the challenges involved in implementing this project.
After these informative visits, it was time for relaxation and fun in the beautiful Amsterdam canals.
GEO2, NOW CYCLING TOO!
Last Saturday, 4 colleagues donned the unique GEO2 polka dot jersey to cycle the spring classic, the Tour of North Holland. A beautiful course through the North Holland villages, colourful tulip fields and bright green polders! After 110 kilometres in their legs, they could proudly and contentedly enjoy a very small spring sunshine.
VOLUNTARY WORK MAKES THE WORLD MORE BEAUTIFUL!
Last Friday, we and the team from GEO2 Engineering B.V. built a bat bridge and a woodchip path at Stadsboerderij Eilandsteede in Utrecht.
So much fun to roll up our sleeves with a beautiful result!
EDESPOORT PROJECT
The Edespoort project is another jewel!
GEO2 Engineering B.V. has been commissioned by Combinatie van Hattum en Blankevoort, VolkerRail Nederland and Van Wijnen Oost to provide the geotechnical design for both the civil and structural components of the project. This includes the design of steel and pile foundations, anchored sheet piling, retaining walls and consideration of the expected deformation of the East Tunnel during the train-free period. GEO2 Engineering B.V. also carried out ground and compaction investigations at the final location of the East Tunnel during the track closure.
As a result, the EdesPoort project proceeded as agreed and is currently in the completion phase.
We thank our client for this special contract.
GEO2 PROUD WINNER OF DURA VERMEER SAFETY BATTLE 2022!
Dura Vermeer invited its design partners to a 'Safety Battle'.
We accepted the invitation to design as safely as possible and demonstrated this through a case. And yes with our winning case, GEO2 takes home the Dura Vermeer Safety Battle 2022 trophy!
NETWORK BBQ
The network barbecue was a success!
All the ingredients were there; sun, bbq, drinks but most of all a pleasant company!
SITE VISIT: RENOVATION OF COAL SLUICE, SPAARNDAM
What does our geotechnical advice look like in practice? The GEO2 team regularly visits a project in progress.
This time we combined our GEO2 meeting with a site visit to the 'Renovation of the Kolksluis in Spaarndam' project. For this project, GEO2 was commissioned by Beens Groep to provide the complete geotechnical design for, among other things, the replacement of the quay structure. Impressive project with geotechnical challenges....
The 'De verdiepte ligging' project in Groningen is just such a project. GEO2 has made its contribution to this project.

The site visit was again a huge success. This time we were able to admire all the ins & outs of the 'De Entree' project at Amsterdam Central Station. Thanks to Dennis Wondergem for the substantive explanation. Of course, after the official part with the GEO2 team, we enjoyed the sunny terrace and a delicious dinner! Good combination of work & fun!
TEAMBUILDING ROTTERDAM
Yes! We can go again!
Finally we could go out with the GEO2 team again!
Last Friday we were able to admire Rotterdam from the water and from the air!

FRAMEWORK CONTRACT GEO2 AND DURA VERMEER
The partnership between GEO2 and Dura Vermeer has been finalised!
GEO2 Engineering B.V. and Dura Vermeer Divisie Infra B.V. have signed a Framework Contract for Engineering Services.
GEO2 is exceptionally proud of being able to welcome Dura Vermeer as permanent client.
Based on our exceptionally good experiences on previous projects, we are looking forward to a fruitful partnership.

A day of Volunteer Work
Last Friday the entire GEO2 team took action to renovate the Community Centre ‘Zuilen Samen Sterk’ (a community center for the elderly in the neighborhood Zuilen, Utrecht)! We are glad to help, and would like to thank Present Utrecht for helping us connect.
