IJBOULEVARD, AMSTERDAM
The municipality is planning to construct the IJboulevard in the water on the IJzijde of Amsterdam Central Station.
The space below this will be used to accommodate a large bicycle parking, located beneath the water. A separate structure will be constructed to protect the IJboulevard from collision.
This project was awarded to Van Hattum en Blankevoort B.V. and will be constructed between 2021 and 2023.
GEO2 Engineering B.V. has analysed the impact of the new structures on the North/South line which runs beneath this and on the Ruijterkade, which comprises a cofferdam construction on which the station canopy rests. The interaction between new and existing structures via the ground was analysed using PLAXIS 3D, which included modelling of the pile foundation installation, collision protection and other loads.
