BOEKELERMEER, ALKMAAR

A port area is being developed on the North Holland Canal south of the municipality of Alkmaar.

The port will be large enough for cargo ships up to shipping class CEMT Va. The project includes the realization of the quay construction of the port, the excavation of the harbor basin, the establishment of an ecozone, the preparation of the industrial plots for construction and the construction of the Aventurijnstraat (including the future flood defence). The harbor will be designed as an inlet harbor and longitudinal quay and will contain more than 650 m of quay construction.

Commissioned by Beens Groep B.V. makes GEO2 Engineering B.V. the design of the quay structure. This includes the design of the sheet piles and anchoring. Stability and settlement of the subsoil are also considered.
